March 20, 2006
The Leading Innovators in 3PL Software Join Forces to Give Combined Customer Base Access to Flexible Integrated Supply-Chain Solutions.
Denver, Colorado and Lenexa, Kansas – Cadre Technologies, Inc. and The LDS Corporation announced today a merger agreement pursuant to which Cadre Technologies has acquired The LDS Corporation. The merger results in a combined company that is the largest software provider to the third-party logistics industry with more than 200 customers in North America.
Cadre Technologies will sell and continue to support products from each organization. The merger will facilitate multiple system operations within common facilities and provide a migration path for existing and new customers to move to the most appropriate new technologies available from the combined software product and service lines.
“Bringing Cadre and LDS together provides a very strong product and service offering for both user communities,” Joe Peters, Cadre’s CEO explained. “Many companies are very stable with their current systems yet have a need to expand and modernize their computing capabilities. Cadre and LDS offer an unmatched combination of collaborative tools that will help our users win new business in today’s complex and very competitive logistics environments.”
“Becoming part of Cadre is an exciting new day for LDS and its customers,” said Tom Long, LDS CEO. “The choices available to our customers to meet future demands are greatly expanded particularly with the combined use of Cadre’s Cadence Supply Chain Execution system and LDS’ LogiView Supply Chain Visibility tool. It also ensures continuity for our customers while they consider the best migration path.”
Cadre Technologies’ warehouse-centric Cadence Integrated Supply Chain Execution software offers capabilities and efficiencies for warehouse operations which have previously relied on multiple, interfaced systems. Cadence is a single system that consolidates critical logistics activities such as warehouse management, order entry, transportation management and activity billing. It was designed to replace the individual host, warehouse and shipping systems which traditionally could not exchange critical data. Cadence also integrates speech directed warehouse activities with bar-code scanning and browser-based keypad input on a single wireless mobile computer. The company is based in Denver, Colorado with field services in Baltimore, Maryland.
LDS solutions include AccuPlus, a comprehensive warehouse logistics system which manages warehouse operations, activity billing, inventory and shipments; LogiView, a Microsoft .NET based hosted web application that provides real-time inventory monitoring information across multiple warehouses and shipments; and Verus, a Microsoft based Warehouse Management System. LDS is based in Lenexa, Kansas, near Kansas City.
